The Public Information Office is responsible for maintaining relations between the Middlesex Sheriff's Office (MSO) and members of the news media.

The office's responsibilities include issuing press releases, scheduling press conferences, coordinating interviews of the Sheriff and staff members, as well as providing official comment during daily and emergency situations. The Public Information Office is also responsible for maintaining all MSO social media accounts.

All information released by the PIO shall conform to Criminal Offender Records Information (CORI) regulations and other applicable privacy laws and regulations.
