Middlesex Jail and House of Correction 1929 buildingThe Middlesex Jail and House of Correction is located approximately 45 minutes north of downtown Boston in the town of Billerica, Massachusetts. Accredited by the American Correctional Association (ACA) and the National Commission on Correctional Health Care (NCCHC), the facility houses men awaiting trial and serving sentences of up to 2 ½ years, as well as women classified to the office's pre-release center.

During their period of incarceration, individuals being held at the Middlesex Jail and House of Correction are encouraged to participate in programming designed to allow them to better themselves and prepare for re-entry. Programming opportunities include classes focused on education, vocation, addiction, and anger management, among others.
