My thoughts and prayers are with the family of Tyre Nichols as they mourn the horrific death of their son, brother and father.
The violence perpetrated against Mr. Nichols at the hands of Memphis police officers – and the lack of aid rendered by those officers present – is appalling and deeply disturbing. What we saw and heard runs contrary to every piece of training provided to police and corrections professionals here in Middlesex County, and throughout Massachusetts.
I stand with my colleagues across the country in unequivocally condemning the actions of the officers involved in this case. They have no place in our profession.
