Middlesex Sheriff Peter J. Koutoujian and Lexington Police Chief Michael A. McLean have announced the recent completion of interactive, scenario-based training for members of the town’s police department.
The training was completed between July 21-25 in Lexington utilizing the MSO’s Mobile Training Center (MTC). In total, 26 Lexington officers participated.
During the training, officers were put through a series of video-based scenarios that replicated situations they may encounter on any shift. This included situations involving individuals trespassing, disorderly conduct, and traffic stop. In addition, officers participated in an active-shooter scenario.
“Our Mobile Training Center allows us to bring this effective and in-demand training directly to our law enforcement partners,” said Sheriff Koutoujian. “By sharing this critical resource, we’re enhancing public safety by helping ensure officers are prepared for the complex situations they face on a daily basis in communities across the Commonwealth.”
