Statement of the Middlesex Sheriff’s Office - January 15, 2025
The Middlesex Sheriff’s Office (MSO) is currently working to resolve a cybersecurity incident involving our information technology (IT) infrastructure.
As part of the office’s ongoing response, MSO staff has proactively disconnected certain internet-based systems out of an abundance of caution. As a result, we are experiencing temporary disruptions to email and some telephone lines.
The MSO is actively working with public safety partners to investigate and resolve the matter.
The incident has not disrupted telephone systems utilized by incarcerated individuals and their loved ones to communicate directly. Programs, visits, medical services and court appearances are ongoing.
